Mother's Day in Heaven

If you have a mother in heaven, you are likely familiar with the utter heartache that surrounds an approaching holiday such as Mother's Day. It's been nearly three and a half years since my Mom passed away and not a day goes by that I don't wake up with the realization that I can only reach her in my dreams.

Don't get me wrong, my Mom and I are human and had the normal mother/daughter squabbles. At the end of the day, she was my biggest fan and OG giver of unconditional love. She was a mama bear.

As a Mom myself, I still struggle with Mother's Day. I was blessed enough to have my Grandmother around until nearly six years ago. Losing her and then my Mom just two years later, I am now the Matriarch of the bloodline. I am not ready for this level of adulting, but here I am.

As I said in my first post, I want to keep this positive. I'm getting to that. Every storm comes to pass. I would like to learn about your heavenly moms. What is your favorite memory with her? What smells remind you of her? (Comment below).

To lead by example, I will start... My Mom had an amazing laugh. She would inhale while laughing and her eyes would wrinkle up in the corners. She had the most calming smile even in the midst of her pain. Gardenias and Lilies of the Valley remind me of my Mama and I am so grateful to have had her in my life. Happy Mother's Day, Mama! I'll see you again in paradise.

Now it's your turn...
